Abstract

|
Purpose:Toreporttheincidenceandclinicalfeaturesofepiblepharonin studentsof KoreaAirForceAcademy.
Methods :328 ofthe students ofKorea AirForce Academy was involved in this study.Thediagnosisofepiblepharon wasperformed with theslitlamp examination. The astigmatism of the patients with epiblepharon was measured by cycloplegic refraction.
Results : 35 subjects,58 eyes was diagnosed with the epiblepharon.After the patientswasclassifiedby thelocation,rightupperlidepiblepharon were45eyes,left upper lid epiblepharon were 49 eyes, right lower lid epiblepharon were 5 eyes, and left lower lid epiblepharon were 4 eyes.The average ofthe astigmatism was 0.625 ¡¾ 0.476 diopter,and the incidence ofastigmatism of0.5 diopters was 66%,and most was¡®with-the-rule¡¯.
Conclusion : :The incidence of epiblepharon in students of Korea Air Force Academy was similar with the previous reports. Since epiblepharon can cause various symptoms and signs, diagnosis and treatment of epiblepharon may be necessary in students.
